The charming Christmas tree exhibition in Fiskars Village is a must-visit during the holiday season. The Christmas tree exhibition is open from 22nd November 2025 to 6th January 2026 Thursday-Sunday at 11-18.

While you’re there, visit Fiskars Museum, the winter exhibitions at KWUM Ceramic Museum, and sample local delicacies at the village’s restaurants and cafés. Add a special touch to your visit with a guided tour and tasting at Fiskars’ beverage producers, or let your creativity shine in a glassblowing workshop at Bianco Blu Studio. Starting on 22 November, direct buses will run from Helsinki to Fiskars on the four Saturdays before Christmas. Read more and book your seat.

Christmas in charming Ekenäs

The picturesque town center of Ekenäs is just the right size to explore on foot. Here you’ll find Finland’s oldest pedestrian street, Kungsgatan, lined with delightful shops and boutiques. Take a break at one of the many cozy cafés: Carl de Mumma, Wi-Box Café & Café Schjerfbeck, to name a few.

Just a short stroll from the town square lies Ekenäs Old Town, where snow-covered alleys, warm Christmas lights, and historic wooden houses create an irresistibly cozy holiday atmosphere. In December, windows light up with beautiful decorations as residents create their own Advent calendar, with a new window revealed each day leading up to Christmas Eve.

Nestled among the old wooden houses is Café Gamla Stan in a charming little 18th-century cottage. Step inside, warm up by the open fire, and enjoy a cup of mulled wine and some homemade pastries.

Don’t miss the contemporary art museum Chappe, an award-winning modern art space just steps from the town square. This winter’s highlight is an exhibition inspired by John Bauer’s beloved fairy tale series Among Gnomes and Trolls (1882–1918). Chappe offers bus trips from Kiasma in Helsinki to Ekenäs on 29 Nov, 7 Dec, and 13 Dec.

The highlight of the route is the bridge built over the Svartån river right next to the fishway in the dam. The bridge has a vantage point from which you can admire the village in all its beauty, and perhaps even spot a fish climbing up the fishway during migration season! The information sign on the bridge teaches visitors about the efforts made to restore the population of freshwater pearl mussels in Svartån, and of the work being done to ease the journey of migratory fish up the river.

The history of Billnäs Village reaches nearly 400 years back in time. The industries of the village have in the past produced everything from iron bars to furniture and exotic fruits, and the signs of the lively industrial history are still clearly visible. One of the aims of the path is to familiarize the visitors of the historical significance of their idyllic surroundings.

The path is suitable for both bikers and hikers. Billnäs is also a part of Raseborg’s city bike network, so the path can easily be linked with for example the beautiful Railbank route reaching all the way to Åminnefors and Fiskars. There are also several resting points with tables and chairs along the route.

The opportunities of nature lovers in Billnäs are expanding, as this summer there’s a chance to rent a fat bike, an electric bike or a kayak from the village. Biking opportunities around Billnäs are numerous, and Svartån river offers wonderful scenery for paddlers.

1. Perfect location

Raseborg’s geographical location makes it easy to travel to the city from both Helsinki and Turku. Hop on the bus or train, or bring your own car – all roads will take you to Raseborg. Come for the day and experience a different environment and atmosphere or extend your trip with remote work. Because of the short distance from two of Finland’s largest cities, you can spend less time traveling and more time enjoying your leisure time.

2. City of opportunities

Stay in one district of Raseborg, discover another, work from a third. The possibilities are many, and the distances relatively short to enjoy the possibilities in versatile Raseborg.

3. Closeness to nature

Thanks to the closeness to nature and the short distances within the districts, you will always have a short way to a lush forest, a beautiful park or a soothing shoreline.

4. Bilingualism
