Sigfrid Aronus Forsius Memorial

Aronus was Finland's first scientist. He was born in 1552 and became priest in Ekenäs.

Made by Bertel Nilsson in 1924 to mark the tercentary of Forsius’ death. Born in Helsinki in 1552, Sigfrid Aronus was Finland’s first scientist, as well as being a writer and priest. Before becoming a priest in Ekenäs, he was a leading astrologer. He has also been dubbed the father of the Swedish almanac.
