Autumn in Raseborg
Raseborg is a popular summer destination, but did you know that autumn is actually one of the loveliest seasons to visit? During this time, the local region of Raseborg showcases its best with fantastic harvest products at colorful harvest markets and squares. Raseborg's diverse nature is perfect for trying out a variety of outdoor activities - or why not take a journey back in time through our rich history on a guided tour?
Harvest season with local delicacies
Did you know Raseborg is a real paradise for lovers of locally produced food? Our city is righteously
proud of our large number of fresh and unique local food products and the many skillful entrepreneurs behind them. For a foodie the best time to travel to Raseborg is undoubtedly autumn, when our markets are brimming with wonderful harvest products.
This year, the traditional autumn market in Ekenäs will once again be organized, where you can browse among approximately 270 sellers. In addition to various market products, the usual and very popular carnival area offers entertainment for the whole family. The autumn market is held at the market square in Ekenäs, located at Flemingsgatan 19. You can enjoy the market hustle and bustle on Thursday, September 19, and Friday, September 20. Tivoli Sariola will traditionally offer an amusement park that will already be open from Wednesday, September 18, from 4 PM to 8 PM, continuing on Thursday, September 19, from 12 PM to 8 PM, and on Friday, September 20, from 12 PM to 9 PM.
If the timetables of the local market events do not match with your schedule, you can always order products from the local REKO food groups of either Karis or Ekenäs . The order is made in beforehand on Facebook, and you can pick your purchase from the joint sharing event on Fridays. Handy, don’t you think? By this you will know whose products you are buying and where your money is going, while you simultaneously get to meet the producers!
Raseborg has a broad network of farmers, local food producers, and other entrepreneurs who create unique artisan products. In our region, we have several bakeries, breweries, a distillery, a cheese factory, and a dairy. The Slow Food Västnyland association has compiled a map and a comprehensive list on their website of all the places that sell locally produced food in our region. This list includes all the farms that sell their products directly, the shops that stock these products, and the farms that offer self-picking of berries. The premier local food event in Raseborg is undoubtedly the Slow Food Festival in Fiskars, which is being organized for the 13th time this year. At the event, you can learn about, taste, and enjoy good, clean, and fair local food! Around 40-50 local producers participate annually in the Slow Food Festival.

Autumn tips for youngsters
Raseborg has plenty of fun activities for young people! In the fresh autumn air, you can enjoy playing disc golf. Raseborg has several disc golf courses in beautiful landscapes, including in Karis, Bromarv, Skogby, and the Västerby outdoor area. Frisbees can be borrowed from the Ekenäs tourist information, which is located at the Raseborg museum.
The skateparks in Karis, Pojo, and Fiskars offer the opportunity to test your skills, and in Karis, there is also a parkour park for those seeking a challenge. For the youngest, Raseborg offers several playgrounds, with Ekenäs Lion Park being a favorite for many. The Lion Park is located near the sea in Stallörsparken, right in the center of Ekenäs within walking distance from the square. The park has swings and climbing frames for children of all ages. Or play pirate games in Fiskars playground: the playground is centrally located next to the square. In the spring, an adventure course was built in Pumpviken in Karis, offering even more excitement.
Raseborg has many beautiful beaches. Although the water can be cold in autumn, the bravest can still enjoy a refreshing dip. Ekenäs public pool reopened after the summer break on August 4th, offering a warmer alternative for swimmers.
In October, public skating returns to the Aktia Ice Hall, meaning you can lace up your skates and enjoy the ice long before the snow falls.
When the rain is pouring down, the bowling alley is a perfect choice. In Ekenäs bowling alley, you can knock down pins, play billiard, or try out the hunting simulator. If you’re looking for something more peaceful to do, the libraries are an excellent choice. Immerse yourself in exciting stories or explore new non-fiction books. The libraries often organize various events and exhibitions that offer even more to do.
End the day by going to the cinema. Raseborg has two retro cinemas, Bio Pallas in Karis and Bio Forum in Ekenäs. They offer a unique atmosphere and a high coziness factor, and since both cinemas have been digitized, you can also see the newest films there.
